  1. Excellent short simple precise video. Been playing for years, and decided to change my own strings as it’s expensive to send out. Such a helpful video. TY

  2. I broke the third string!😭😭😭😭😭 it made this strange noise and I’m a beginner guitarist and I can play piano to and I don’t have any strings capo or the pick or the case😭😭

  3. Excellent tutorial, thank you. I watched your video twice, then changed the strings. What a satisfying feeling 👌

  4. I learned this method and have not had a snapped string. Make sure to leave strings flat and quarter turns to pitch.

  5. Thanks, lad! The process might seem intuitive, but it’s the little things, like cuting on 1 and a half machine head distance and pressing down while winding that make the difference bwtween a good looking guitar head and one that looks like crap. 🙂

  6. I knew this bloke who wouldn’t tighten all the strings up to concert pitch fearing that they might break and hit someone in the eye. Of course he was totally insane Oh come all yea faithful, totally nuts.

  7. I’ve been putting string on for 20 years by putting the WHOLE string length through, and cutting after… I tried it this way, it did take longer, but it was a neater process. Thanks!

  8. If you guys don’t have these fancy tools and need to get a bridge pin out just use the back end of a spoon, it works really well

  9. Ok so I got this old guitar from my brother. And the strings hadn’t been changed in probably a decade. And a friend of mine gave me new strings and told me to be very careful because when he first tried to restring his guitar he went through the three packs. So I planned to watch like 40 videos before I tried. Then I abandoned that plan and watched this one and just kind of got the gist of it. And I actually did it!! I didn’t break any strings and they are all in the right spot!! Anyway just wanted to share cuz I’m proud of myself 😃

  10. Followed your directions and my high e string snapped and almost caught me in the eye. I’ll be taking my guitar to guitar center. For $15 they will do it for me. Not worth the headache… no thanks. Too difficult for me.

  11. Ugh. My strings always seems to slip at the machine head once I get them close to tension. How does one avoid that?

  12. After I restring my guitar, I like to tune all the strings one half step higher ( E# A# D# G# B# E# ), and let it sit like that for a day, and then tune the strings back down to standard tuning. That way it gives all the strings a good stretch, but not too much.

  13. Thank You very much it helped me to fix my guitar string. THANK YOU very much. This made me hit the like and the subscribe button. 😊😊😊😃😃😁

  14. I just CHANGED MY GUITAR STRINGS ( 3 years old or more ) . QUALITY OF SOUND CHANGED FROM LEVEL 4 or 5 to LEVEL 10 . ( New Set of FENDER STRINGS ) .

  15. This video is so wrong , you need to wrap the strings around the peg at least 4 times in order to trap the end of the string otherwise it’ll slip out of tune then you snip the string, do this and your guitar will stay in tune much longer.

  16. You didn’t mention to have the first wraparound of the peg until I already had four strings on so now I’m screwed

  17. Wash your hands before you do this. I keep hand sanitizer with my guitar picks to clean the oils from my fingers before I play.

  18. Thanks. I really enjoyed this tutorial. Very easy to understand. I’ll use this as my guide next time I change my guitar strings. Gil from Texas
